POSTPONED: When we’re 60

We are postponing the conference due to the corona situation and recommendations from experts in both Finland and Sweden.
The conference will be arranged on August 18th. As it seems now, the program will be the same, we are discussing with all our speakers and activity organizers.
We will get back to all the participants about the arrangements in August, they all still have a spot at the conference so they don’t need to apply again.

If you answered yes, welcome to discuss what the future of our civil societies will look like in 2050 and beyond. And of course: meet like minded people!
Date & time:
April 14th-15th. Participants from Sweden will travel to Helsinki on April 13th and be back in Stockholm the morning April 16th.
Main goals:
The 2019 youth barometer in Finland and Sweden shows an increased political and societal growth commitment among young people. 60 + 60 participants from Sweden and Finland gather at Hanaholmen to discuss the future of the civil society.
Another goal for the event is also to increase the engagement of the younger generations and to build lasting relationships over nation boarders. During 2020 the Swedish-Finnish Cultural foundation turns 60 years and the event is part of the official celebrations.
Who can apply to the programme?
The event is for young (16-30-year-old) leaders and future decision makers in the third social sector (NGO), active networks, student organizations, political parties and interested individuals. You don’t need to have any previous experience, as long as you are interested and devoted!
Application deadline:
The deadline for pre-registrations is February 15th. We will confirm your participation soon after the deadline. After that you have approximately one week’s time to confirm your place in the programme. Note that participation requires participation during the whole programme and active involvement. Also Finnish participants are expected to stay overnight at Hotel Hanaholmen April 14th-15th.
How are the participants chosen?
The event aims to gather a diverse group (age, gender, background, experience). Since we want to certain the diversity of the crowd and ensure that the participants come from different background (organizations), regions and bring their own unique perspectives to the agenda we will confirm your attendance at the latest in the beginning of March 2020.
If there are free places after the deadline February 15th we will take in participants in order of registration.
Language:
The event will be arranged mostly in English but might include parts in Swedish or Finnish. We provide simultaneous interpretation for those parts. Questions can be asked in all Swedish, Finnish and English.
What does it cost to participate?
The event is free of charge. The participants’ travel expenses to Finland, accommodation at Hanaholmen (also Finnish participants, 2 persons/room) and meals will be covered by the organizers.
Programme:
The event begins with a mutual lunch at 11.30 am. The programme includes interesting key notes, debates and case examples from both countries. In addition we’ll have an activity room where organizations and funders can arrange activities related to the topics of the event. The seminar programme ends at 5 pm and after that we have a mutual dinner, there’s possibility to use the sauna and to mingle with the rest of the participants.
Venue:
The event will take place at Hanaholmen – the Swedish-Finnish cultural centre in Espoo. Hanaholmen is a well-known, reliable meeting place with a top-quality in-house restaurant, and a maritime hotel – all under the same roof.
