This year’s Democracy Day asks: Who bears responsibility for our right to know?

Artificial intelligence, the spread of disinformation, increasing polarisation in public discourse, and the shrinking media landscape and declining media freedom raise questions about how the right to reliable information can be safeguarded in the future. How can we guarantee our right to reliable information in a world where the production, dissemination and manipulation of information are becoming increasingly difficult to control? What must we protect to ensure that democracy can continue to be grounded in knowledge in the future?

Democracy Day is organised in collaboration with Hanaholmen, Anders Chydenius foundation and Journalists without borders Finland.
