English and SwedishA well-functioning energy supply is important for economic prosperity and competitiveness. EU has decided to become carbon neutral by 2050, and the Swedish parliament has made an even more ambitious goal – to reach the carbon neutrality by 2045. Researchers in SNS Economic Policy Council led by Professor Thomas Tangerås examine the challenges Sweden faces in the energy transition and how the transition can be achieved in a sustainable way.
The main questions in the report focus on the future demand and costs of electricity, as well as the challenges related to a sustainable transition. The researchers are also looking for answers to whether the energy transition can be done in accordance with market conditions and what type of role the state should have in the transition.
The Swedish embassy, in collaboration with SNS and Hanaholmen, arranges a presentation of the SNS Economic Policy Council report in Finland where the report is presented by Professor Thomas Tangerås. There will also be a discussion about the energy transition in Finland and differences and similarities between our countries.
The event is directed at those invited, but if you are interested you can also contact us to ask if there is a possibility to join. The occasion is held in English and Swedish.
