The aim of the event is to bring together a range of critical interest groups to examine the concept of freedom within academia and research. Participants will include early career researchers, senior researchers, funders, and decision-makers, providing complementary perspectives from across the Nordic countries.

In light of the current global landscape, where discussions on academic freedom are increasingly vital, our goal is to facilitate dialogue on concrete initiatives and measures that could protect and safeguard the rights, responsibilities, and freedoms of researchers, not only in the Nordics but also within the broader European context. We aim to contribute to strengthening the Nordic voice in the ongoing discourse, with the objective of producing a joint Nordic perspective on freedom of science.
